U-14 Preferente A achieved 4th Place in Madrid
We are about to close the curtain on the FBM season, before the much-needed summer break to recharge our batteries during the holidays. Our TBS categories are featured in #LaCronica, where we will give you a summary of Torrejón Basketball Academy performance on the FBM basketball courts, both away games on the current date and at our Javi Limones and Nuria Fernández courts during the action on June 6-7 and the upcoming date:
The Second Year Girls Benjamin team is currently in the reclassification round for positions 17-32. On May 23, playing away, they strung together victories, defeating Villaviciosa de Odón A.B. (41-20) to climb to the top of their group. On May 30, we traveled to Magariños to face Movistar Estudiantes (31-27), suffering another close defeat.
The Boys First Year White team played but could not close out the season, losing on May 23rd as visitors to C.D. El Valle in Sanchinarro (86-71). This was a reclassification match for the 37-42 league standings. It was a clash of leaders in this phase, with their opponents undefeated.
The Girls First Year team lost on the morning of May 23rd (75-48) to Colegio Los Sauces in La Moraleja. They are currently leading this qualifying phase.
The Boys Second Year Blue team had a positive day (37-46) against Pintobasket Negro, specifically on May 23rd at the Príncipe de Asturias arena. They then secured another victory on May 30th at the Javi Limones arena against Arganzuela Centro (55-47).
The Girls Second Year team has continued their winning streak, securing a 17-32 position in the reclassification standings on May 23rd against C.B. Zona Press (56-20). We waited until June 6th when, at Pez Volador, we lost a close game (64-59) against Real Canoe, thus ending the girls season.
The Under-12 Second Year team, after their away game on May 23rd against C.B. Ciudad de Móstoles, played on May 30th at Javi Limones against Baloncesto Villalba A (53-83), suffering a defeat.
The Under-14 First Year Girls team, after falling in the FBM Quarterfinals, played on May 29th against Lions Basket Arroyomolinos A at Javi Limones and won convincingly (55-14). This was for positions 5-8 in the competition. We will finish on June 13th at 11:00 AM at Distrito Centro against Valcude Alcobendas. Go!
The Girls U14 Preferente team started the Round of 16 against Salesianos Paseo on May 9th (50-37), but were unlucky in the score. We had the home-court advantage in the return leg on May 16th at the Sonia Abejón arena against Salesianos Paseo (58-47), but narrowly missed out. A commendable effort from the girls, and from Osvaldo Deocares and Álvaro Pacheco!
The Boys U14 First Year team could not make it through in the Quarterfinals, but on May 30th they won against C.B. Getafe A at the Juan de la Cierva arena. We return to action on June 13th at 9:00 AM at the Javi Limones arena against Fundal Alcobendas D. A clash of undefeated teams in this reclassification phase for positions 5-8 in the league. Fifth place is at stake.
The Boys U14 First Year team Blanco, had a bye this weekend, May 9th-10th. This coming May 23rd, we face Estudio Amarillo at the Javi Limones gym at 12:45 PM. We played Colegio El Prado on May 29th at the Nuria Fernández gym.
The Infantil Preferente A team has had a fantastic year on the court. We played the Quarterfinals against Arganzuela Centro Blanco at their gym on May 23rd and then again at the Javi Limones gym (64-60) on Sunday. We are going to the Final Four! On May 30th, we lost to Colegio Gaudem in the championship game, and we went on to play for the bronze medal in the Madrid Preferente Day tournament against Juan de Austria A, where we lost (91-62) and finished fourth in the competition.
The Under-14 B team, after their match against Fénix Basket Club Boadilla on May 23rd at the Javi Limones arena, faced Baloncesto Paracuellos Blanco on May 30th (34-75) and emerged victorious to finish the year with a 6-0 record in this reclassification phase for positions 21-24 in the FBM Silver League.
The Under-14 A team suffered a defeat and now has a 4-2 record in this phase, competing for positions 16-27 in the FBM Silver League. They lost away on May 24th against C.B. Ciudad de Móstoles (43-34), and this opponent now draws level with them at the top of the group.
The Women Preferente Cadet team is on fire, bringing their record to 4-2 in this phase. They secured a fantastic away victory on May 23rd (35-40), defeating the previously undefeated Ensanche de Vallecas A team. On May 30th, they closed out the year at the Javi Limones arena against Patrocinio San José (57-49), a win against their direct competitor that secured them first place. The First Year Cadet team is 3-1 in this phase, competing for positions 39-41, after their loss on May 30th against C.D.B. Aquila. On June 7th, they won (52-46) against Colegio Joyfe.
The White Cadet team suffered an away defeat (80-51) on May 23rd against Arroyomolinos C.B. A. in the relegation playoffs for Division 1. We met again on the court this May 30th at Javi Limones against Recuerdo S.A.D. (43-73), ending the year with a losing record.
The Cadete B team stepped up their game in the reclassification round for positions 37-48 in Division 1, winning all their games back-to-back. The derby on May 24th (86-98) was a victory at Javi Limones against Cadete A. We faced Baloncesto Leganés this May 30th at Javi Limones. And we won.
Cadete A could notmanage a win in the reclassification round for positions 37-48 in Division 1, losing their undefeated record at Javi Limones this Sunday, leaving us with a 3-1 record. The derby on May 24th (86-98) went in favor of Cadete B. On May 31st, we played against Baloncesto San Jorge 2011 and won at the Javi Limones arena. Then, on June 7th, we won away (49-69) against Baloncesto Leganés 2010 A. Our record is 5-1.
Júnior Preferente Azul has a 2-3 record in this phase, competing for 29th-32nd place. They were scheduled to play away against Madrid FSM C.D.B B on May 9th at 5:00 PM, but the game was postponed to June 1st.
Júnior Preferente has lost twice and was eliminated in the Round of 16, first on April 12th away against Ensanche de Vallecas A (72-66). We faced this same opponent again on April 19th (47-56) at the Javi Limones arena.
Junior B will be on a rest day starting this weekend, April 26th.
Junior A reached the competition for 5th to 8th place in the Gold League, first defeating Baloncesto Fuenlabrada away (112-116) and BT A at their home arena in Torrelodones on April 21st. Last weekend, they dominated Real Canoe (103-77) this past Sunday at the Javi Limones Arena, winning all their games. We are now fifth in Madrid in the Gold League! What a great season for the Colo Zuttion team, who gave the impression of being a Final Four contender.
Under-22 B continues winning in this phase for 29th-32nd place in the league with a 4-2 record. Early on May 24th, we won (58-88) away against C.D. Estudio.
Under-22 Gold won in the Final Four, in a fantastic atmosphere at the Generación de Oro Arena. The Spartans defeated BT, the home team, in the semifinals (71-88) on May 23rd, advancing to the final of the category for the second consecutive year. Gregorio Recios team confirmed the positive impression they made throughout the year. In the final league game, they faced Baloncesto San Jorge, a tough opponent (67-88). Marco Pérez was their best player during this Final Four. A silver medal for the second year in a row, and congratulations to our team!
Torrejón Spartans fell in the first of the FBM Quarterfinals (88-57) against Patrocinio San José at the Antonio Díaz Miguel arena. Their opponent capitalized on their ball movement and three-point shooting throughout the game to pull away. Highlights are available on social media. However, they showed their fighting spirit and won the return leg at the Javi Limones arena on May 24th (74-69). A great season for Tomás Morales team.
And to finish #TheChronicle, the TBS National Senior team reached three games in their VIPS Round of 16 tie but could not pull it off (67-75) against Valcude Alcobendas, despite another great game from Carlos Abentín. Playing in a fantastic atmosphere with the home crowd cheering them on, it was a tough match, and the injuries that have plagued us this part of the season, including Roberto Donaire, Javier Sánchez, Jorge Herráiz, and others, have taken their toll. Applause for the team, who started the year by winning the VIPS Cup, for battling all year long. Time to recharge and come back for the same goal: the title and promotion to the FEB Third Division in 2026-2027.
