This is how Torrejón Basketball Academy most recent weekend went after the action on May 10th and 11th, as well as a look ahead to what is coming next.
The First-Year Girls Benjamin are filling us with joy with how they have approached this final stretch of the season and the number of wins they have achieved. On top again! This time, against Corazonistas Rojo, on May 10th (44-4). We are 2-1 in the reclassification group for the 40-43 spots in the Marco Aldany League. We will visit C.B Ciudad de Móstoles 2017 at 4:15 PM on May 17.
The Second-Year Girls Benjamin found a stumbling block this time (40-30) against C.B Tres Cantos, on the road. This group first loss, after two wins, ended in a 50th-53rd place in the Marco Aldany League. C.B. Coslada plays on May 17 at 1:00 PM at their El Plantío arena.
The First-Year Boys Alevín team had no luck in front of the hoop, losing (81-35) to Uros de Rivas B on the road. We are 1-2 in this groups action, which is looking to determine the 43rd-48th place in their FBM competition. We will be at the home of Basket Aranjuez on May 17th at 11:00 AM.
The First-Year Girls Alevín team... Well, well, what a game we had! A spectacular comeback to force overtime, and then a 43-39 final score to win against Brains Arturo Soria on May 10th at the Javi Limones stadium. What a season reward for the José Gismero-led girls, who also received a special gift at the end of the game. We will play at Valdeluz on May 17 at 11:15 a.m.
The White Boys Second-Year Alevín team fell short on May 10th on the road (66-33) against Salesianos Soto Piratas. We fell to 0-2 in the reclassification group for the 70-72 league positions. This coming May 17-18, we will be resting with this group.
The Torrejón Boys Second-Year Alevín team secured their series against Lions Basket Arroyomolinos A by winning at Javi Limones Stadium (69-61), coming back from behind against Pintobasket in the FBM Round of 16, and then beating them again at their arena (72-78). Congratulations, David Sanz Jr. and his team! We are in the FBM Quarterfinals, making history with these Minis. A tough matchup against Real Canoe, starting this May 17 at 12:30 PM at the Javi Limones Stadium.
The Second-Year Girls Alevin team, now in the hunt for the Gold Play-In, found their place in the Gold Play-In, visiting Baloncesto Torrelodones (56-67). A great win that inspires dreams for the Nerea Sánchez-led team. We lead this group 1-0 in the reclassification action for the 17-32 spots. We are visiting San José del Parque on May 17th at 9:30 AM.
The First-Year Girls Infantil team could not find the right offensive spark in the Javi Limones match (28-38) against C.B Getafe B. We are 1-1 in the reclassification group action for the 55-60 Liga FBM spots. On May 17, we are playing Baloncesto Leganés B at 1:00 PM at the Carlos Sastre Stadium.
The Infantil Preferente Femenino team, this time without enough defense to close it out (31-43) against Spinola Chamartín at Javi Limones on May 10th in the Round of 16 of the league. We have to give it our all at these rivals arena this coming weekend. The game will be on May 17th at 5:30 PM.
The Infantil First Year team bounced back from elimination from the FBM Playoffs, winning (41-74) on the road against Juan de Austria in the reclassification from 17th to 32nd place. We will travel to La Canaleja to play Alcorcón Basket on May 17th at 9:30 AM.
The Infantil Preferente Azul team fell 67-36 to BT Aquinas in the second leg of the 9th-10th place in the fourth division.
U14 B won well (53-62) on May 10 against C.B Getafe A at the Felipe Reyes Stadium, in the Round of 16 of the league. A good win, group! We will look to finish this off on May 17, at 10:45 AM in the second game of this group.
The U14 A continues to work on their homework, and while they rest, the match against Distrito Olímpico B at the Nuria Fernández Stadium at 7:30 PM on May 11 has been moved to May 24, at 2:15 PM. Then, the division returns to the game on May 18, at 12:30 PM against Baloncesto Leganés 2012 at the Javi Limones Stadium.
Cadete Preferente Femenino with a loss to start (59-55) in the Round of 16 against Pureza de María on May 10. Positive feelings nonetheless, and we will go all out at home to play for this qualification next weekend. The return game will be at 2:15 PM on May 17 at Javi Limones Stadium. Come on, girls! We will support them.
Cadete 2010 Blanco with a nagging loss (17-56) at Javi Limones Stadium against Club Europeo Baloncesto B, where little has gone right for us. We are 0-3 in this Relegation Group for the 21st-24th places in the Third Division. We are heading to Pepe Domaica Stadium this morning on May 18 to play San Viator C.
Cadete Primero Año has fought again, but this time the final point was missing (61-47) against Colegio Nile on the road. We are 1-3 in this reclassification group from 33rd to 36th in the competition. We will visit Colegio Joyfe on May 17 at 4:30 PM.
This time, Cadete Preferente could not find the upper hand (33-51) against C.B Alcorcón A, the group leader. We have dropped to 1-2 in the First Division Relegation Group. We will visit Valcude Alcobendas 2010 on May 17 at 6:00 PM.
The Cadete B team played another great game and managed to close it out (47-43) at the Nuria Fernández Stadium against San Viator A. We tied our record at 1-1 in the reclassification from 37th to 48th place in the Bronze D-3. We will play in the next round on May 18 at home to Ensanche de Vallecas at 5:00 PM.
Cadete A had a day off on the weekend of May 10-11. On May 18, we will play against Alcorcón Basket B at 12:30 PM at Javi Limones Stadium.
Júnior Preferente Azul had a chance and secured it (48-52) against Villanueva de la Cañada Verde at their home arena. We are starting in the reclassification group for places 9-12 in this Fifth Division. We will host Movistar Estudiantes E at Javi Limones Stadium at 9:00 AM on May 17.
Júnior Preferente Blanco faces Olímpico 64 again, but this time on May 18 at 11:15 AM. This makes three wins in a row in this reclassification phase for places 21-24 in FBM, in this Second Division. Then, on May 25, they will face Liceo Francés at Arturo Soria Stadium, at a time yet to be announced.
Junior B played another tremendous game (81-68) against Majadahonda Naranja on May 11 at the Javi Limones stadium. We now have a 3-0 record in the reclassification group, having finished between 37-48 in the FBM Bronze.
Junior A did what they had to do and with great ease in their game for 13th to 15th place in the league, (120-48) against C.B Getafe A.
The U-22 Bronze team fell flat in the Round of 16 of the league, against Eurocolegio Casvi (78-57) on the road, and were unable to advance to the Quarterfinals. Sebastián Malavé put in a great performance in this effort, after having won the two-legged first leg of this tie.
The U-22 Silver team showed their mettle and experience in the Round of 16 on May 11 to turn things around and win (53-65) against Uros de Rivas at their home arena. Nacho Gallego and his players on the court were tremendous. In this two-game series, the points factor will advance us to the Quarterfinals in these Playoffs. This will be at Javi Limones Stadium at 6:5 PM, against Salesianos Soto Piratas on May 18. We will support our club.
The U-22 Gold team lent their credentials to the FBM Playoffs on May 11, against I.E. University at Javi Limones Stadium (84-70) to defeat them in the third and decisive game. The Nacho Gallego-led team has qualified for the Quarterfinals once again. It is time to host Santa María del Pilar at Javi Limones Stadium on May 18. The game will be played at 10:45 AM.
In the Second Division, Torrejón Spartans lacked the defensive intensity to hold off San Viator on their (58-78) victory this past weekend. This was in the finals for the 17-20 league positions. We will play Recuerdo S.A.D. this past weekend at 9:00 a.m. at the Javi Limones Stadium.
And to wrap up #LaCrónica, the TBS Senior National team had a very even performance against the tough A.D.C. Boadilla (95-105), which went to overtime at the Javi Limones Stadium, where we ran out of gas. The VIPS Quarterfinals began with a loss. Rubén Escanciano, with another shooting display, led the way with 29 points, followed by the irreverent Marcos Hermosilla with 23. The series returns on May 17 at the Rey Felipe VI stadium at 5:15 PM. If we win there and draw the series, the third and final game will be at 7:30 PM at the Javi Limones stadium, this Sunday, May 18. We can... We visualize it... We will win.
