The Tecmoon Torrejón chest bumps with a win for the playoffs

The visit of Majadahonda, in a decisive match for the locals to be among the top four of the group, did not bode well. A very scoring team, which came in second place in the group and already in the first leg beat Tecmoon by more than 20 points, it was not the best rival when only those from Torrejón were worth the victory.

But the beauty of basketball is that when teams have it more difficult is when they show their best face, and that was what happened at Javi Limones on Saturday afternoon. The beginning of the game did not look good at all, with the visiting team very successful in the triples, especially the Herreros brothers, who forced the local coach to request his first time-out when only 5 minutes had passed into the first quarter and Tecmoon already he was losing 9 points; and he had only scored 5.

The time-out seemed to wake up the players, and the figure of Malique Lewis began to emerge, who game by game is consolidating in the national category while he is still a first-year junior (U-17). His points, rebounds and intimidation in defense, together with a greater success in the teams shots, caused that at the end of this quarter only Torrejóns team lost by 3 points. The trend of the game remained similar during the second quarter, with an exchange of baskets between the two teams and a score of 36-36 at halftime.

The third quarter, which this season has been too big a wall for Tecmoon, this time it was not, and the local team managed to stay in the game and face the final quarter with a difference of 2 points on the scoreboard. In this last period, in addition to the game that was played in Torrejón, there was another to which the local bench paid a lot of attention, and that is that the victory of the SBA against Alcorcón, classified the locals among the first 4, regardless of the result that it happened here.

But it seems that everyone was determined that, until the end of the two games, the final places in the classification would not be decided. Alcorcóns game went into extra time and that seemed to give Tecmoon an impetus, which stopped thinking about possible caroms and put a fifth gear in the final quarter, managing to clearly impose itself on Majadahonda. Now you just have to wait for the result of the Getafe-French Lyceum to know if they are third or fourth in the group and face the next phase.
