With summer just around the corner, the season is almost here for Torrejón Basketball Academy, so we are reviewing #LaCronica after the action on May 31st and June 1st, as well as looking ahead to what is coming up in the next round of FBM games. The spotlight is on our U-22 Gold and Silver categories, which are in their finals and within striking distance of the FBM championship.

The First-Year Girls Benjamín returned to winning ways (15-32) against Corazonistas Rojo on May 31st. Another one! We have a 4-2 record in the group reclassification for the 45th-48th places in the league.

The Blue Mixed Benjamín is the champion! No one has been able to beat us this year, and last weekend was no exception (34-43) playing against Parque Cataluña Torrejón. White Mixed Benjamín again won against Humanitas C.D.E. Verde (12-30) on May 24 at Javi Limones Stadium, to finish the season with a 9-9 record.

The Second-Year Benjamín Girls team continues to rise, winning their home game against C.B. Tres Cantos (55-18). We lead the reclassification with a 5-1 record, in the 50-53 FBM standings.

The First-Year Boys Alevín team played against C.B. Zona Press (49-38) on May 24 at Javi Limones Stadium to close out the 2024-2025 FBM season with a victory. We tied this opponent with a 2-3 record in this reclassification phase for the 43-48 league positions.

Azul Mixed Alevín won the key match (21-27) against Unión Deportiva Loeches on May 24, and we close out the regular season on a high.

The First-Year Girls Alevín... Well, well, what a game we had! A spectacular comeback, once again, with the composure and talent of Noa Gismero, converting three free throws at the end of the game against Valdeluz on May 17 (52-53), leaving them on the field.

The Blanco Second-Year Boys Alevín team could not do it again and suffered a defeat at the Sonia Abejón stadium (57-62) against Salesianos Soto Piratas on May 31.

The Torrejón Second-Year Boys Alevín team did a great job on May 31 against Uros de Rivas A (...-...). We will play Juan de Austria on June 15 at the Miguel Hernández stadium at 11:00 a.m. to close out the year.

The Second-Year Girls Alevín have wanted it more than they could have imagined, and they have got it: a Gold Play-In, achieving it against C.B Las Rozas B (77-25) at home in front of our fans. We are a Gold-category team next season. Congratulations! The highlights of this match are already on the YouTube channel. We are 3-0 at this stage, in 17th-32nd place in the league.

First-Year Girls Infantil did it this time against C.B Arganda (35-39) at their home arena on May 31st. A victory that lifts spirits in this reclassification for the 55th-60th FBM positions.

Girls Infantil have lost two in a row against Spinola Chamartín (50-41) in the league Round of 16, the latter on May 17th. Despite this, we have come a long way, and we have to congratulate our girls, Daniel Ríos and Osvaldo Deocares. Great year, group!

The Infantil First Year team has a string of consecutive wins, this time (73-21) against Buen Consejo. We are at the top of the standings in this reclassification group after a 17-32 loss in the league.

The Infantil Preferente Azul team fell 67-36 to BT Aquinas in the second leg, finishing their FBM season after failing to improve their basket average.

The Infantil B team, after a +9 win in the first leg, could not secure the result against C.B. Getafe in the second leg (43-69), and we are eliminated in the playoffs. It has been a great year, group! Kudos to them for all their hard work. They finished with a 22-2 record this FBM season.

The Infantil A team continues to do their homework and defeated Juan de Austria (66-81) at their home arena on May 25th. We are 6-0 up in this phase, leading the competition in the 37th-48th place bracket.

Cadete Preferente Femenino fell short in their series against Parla Básquet Black this weekend, falling at the Javi Limones Stadium and then on Sunday (71-62) in the return match to be eliminated in these league quarterfinals. We must applaud Agustín Sánchez, Noelia Parralejo, and the entire core of athletes for such a good year, despite everything.

Cadete 2010 Blanco came up big this time at the Sonia Abejón Stadium against San Viator C (62-48) on May 31st. With this win, we added our second in this reclassification phase after four losses; even more courageous, because we beat a top opponent.

Cadete Primero Año returned to action on May 24th, against C.D. Nile (79-56) and achieved it. We are now 3-3 in this reclassification phase, even more courageous because we beat the current leader.

Cadete Preferente has triumphed and continues to build on its tremendous momentum, winning the game (73-49) against Valcude Alcobendas 2010. We now have a 4-2 record in the relegation playoff.

The Cadete B team played another great game and what a win against San Viator A on June 1st (51-69) at the Pepe Domaica Stadium. Juan Martín Castillo provided a great performance with his passes and points, getting the rest of his teammates going. We will be back in action on June 8th, when we play Ensanche de Vallecas at 7:00 PM at the Joaquín Blume Stadium. The 37th-48th place in the league is at stake.

Cadete A was off last weekend and returns to action this morning, June 8th, when we play Alcorcón Basket B at 9:30 AM in La Canaleja to play in the 13th-15th place playoff.

Júnior Preferente Azul (Blue) was defeated this time in their visit to Bigmat Fuenlabrada (53-34), a match for the 9th-12th place in the Fifth Division of the league.

Júnior Preferente Blanco (White) fell to Liceo Francés (43-58) on May 25th at Arturo Soria Stadium, at 2:45 PM. The team finishes its season with a 9-17 record.

Júnior B played another tremendous game (81-68) against Majadahonda Naranja (Orange) on May 11th at Javi Limones Stadium. They finished with a 3-0 record in the reclassification group, finishing between 37 and 48 in the FBM Bronze.

Júnior A did what they had to do and with great ease in their match for 13th to 15th place in the league, (120-48) against C.B Getafe A.

The U-22 Bronze team suffered a letdown in the Round of 16 of the league, against Eurocolegio Casvi (78-57) on the road, and were unable to advance to the Quarterfinals. Sebastián Malavé put in a great performance in this effort, after having won the two-legged first leg of this tie. The season is over.

The U-22 Silver team showed their mettle again, and in the semifinals this Saturday, May 31st, at the Javi Limones Stadium, they overcame Alcorcón Basket B (68-64). The following day, at their home arena, the team overcame a -20 deficit to end with a narrow defeat (70-69) and qualify for the FBM Finals of the category. Great performances from Sebastián Malavé and Luis Marena, who spun the icing on the cake in the sweltering heat of Alcorcón with a crucial rebound and slalom shot to the hoop, culminating in a double. We face Pablo Laso Academy A in a two-game tie on June 7th at the José Antonio Paraíso Stadium at 12:15 PM, and then we will close out the tournament on June 8th at the UCJC Sports Club at 7:00 PM. Yes, we can do it!

The U-22 Gold team is once again in the FBM Final Four. And we are already looking ahead to next weekend, as this Saturday, June 7th at 5:00 PM, we will head to La Canaleja to face Juan de Austria A at 5:00 PM in a single game elimination for a place in the grand final. Both teams, led by Nacho Gallego, have a crazy good weekend. The following day, there is a bronze medal game and the grand finale, both at the same arena in the afternoon.

In the Second Autonomous Division, Torrejón Spartans are on a roll, going to San Viator on May 25th and beating them (73-85) at the Pepe Domaica to end the season.

And to finish #LaCrónica, the TBS National Senior team has made it this far and falls in the VIPS League Quarterfinals. They faced the tough A.D.C. Boadilla (93-61), who, after a close first half with changes in intensity and a tight score, were unable to sustain their lead in the second half and were overwhelmed. An offense that did not kick in, and our defense conceded 33 points in the fourth quarter to our opponents. Rubén Escanciano was a standout offensively for the team led by Colo Zuttion. We are closing out another great year on a bittersweet note. After leading the VIPS group in the regular season, we once again lacked that extra something in the playoffs. But we have not given up, and we will be back in 2025-2026. Let us get to it. We will seek promotion to the FEB Third Division. Go TBS!

Honorable mention to our U-17 3x3 team, which participated for the third year in a row in the FBM Ribé Salat, but this time it was unable to reach the podium and did not qualify for the U-17 Spanish Championship in the event, as it had done in its two previous editions. Applause for the 2008-born kids. They had a 3-1 record, beating Villaviciosa de Odón Azul, then the champion Spanish Basketball Academy, and then Getafe Amarillo before falling to the finalist Brains Moraleja, in the Plaza del X-Madrid, the shopping center.
