Our U-22 Gold and Silver teams made it to the Final Four
The season is coming to an end, and the nostalgia is already setting in at Torrejón Basketball Academy, so we are reviewing #LaCronica after the action on May 24th and 25th, as well as looking ahead to what is coming up in the next round of FBM games. It will be one of the last of the 2024-2025 calendar.
The First-Year Girls U-10 Benjamín has lost its winning streak (12-19) to C.D.I. Rozasbasket, the undefeated leader in this phase. We trail them at 3-2 in second place, in a great close-out to the year. We will visit Corazonistas Rojo at 1:30 PM this coming May 31, the next round of competition.
The Blue Mixed Benjamín team is champion! No one has been able to beat us this year, and last weekend was no exception (34-43) against Parque Cataluña Torrejón.
White Mixed Benjamín won again against Humanitas C.D.E. Verde (12-30) on May 24 at Javi Limones Stadium, to finish the season with a 9-9 record.
The Second-Year Benjamín Girls team continues to rise, and we secured a victory after going to Brains Moraleja (33-37) and defending it well in the final minutes. We lead the reclassification phase with a 4-1 record. We will play at Sonia Abejón on May 31, this time against C.B. Tres Cantos at 12:30 p.m. at home.
The First-Year Alevín Boys team played against C.B. Zona Press (49-38) on May 24 at Javi Limones Stadium to close out the 2024-2025 FBM season with a victory. We tied this opponent with a 2-3 record in this reclassification phase for the 43rd-48th place in the league.
Blue Mixed Alevín won the key game (21-27) against Unión Deportiva Loeches on May 24, and we are closing out the regular season on a high note.
The First-Year Girls Alevín... Well, well, what a game we had! A spectacular comeback, once again, with the composure and talent of Noa Gismero, converting three free throws at the end of the match at Valdeluz on May 17 (52-53), leaving them on the field. We finished out season in style.
The White Second-Year Boys U12 returned to the fray on May 24 against Juventud Alcalá at their home arena (71-20), with a loss to the group leader in this reclassification. We are 0-3 in this phase, and on May 31 we will play Salesianos Soto Piratas at the Sonia Abejón stadium at 2:15 PM.
The Torrejón Boys Second-Year U12 team has done a top-notch job in completing this quest for a 5th-8th place in the league, beating Uros de Rivas A (83-70) at home on May 24th. We will face Uros de Rivas A on May 31st, at a time yet to be determined.
The Second-Year Girls U12 team wanted it more, and they got it: a Gold Play-In berth secured, achieving it against C.B Las Rozas B (77-25) at home in front of our fans. We are a Gold-category team next season. Congratulations! Highlights from this game are already on the YouTube channel. We are 3-0 in this phase, in 17th-32nd place in the league.
The First-Year Girls Preferred Infantil team almost achieved it against Brains Arturo Soria (22nd-23rd), losing by the narrowest of margins. This team is undefeated in this phase, and we have a 2-2 record, 55th-60th in the league. We will play against C.B. Arganda at their arena on May 31st at 12:00 PM.
The Infantil Preferente Femenino team has two straight losses against Spinola Chamartín (50-41) in the league Round of 16, the latter on May 17th. Despite this, we have come a long way, and we must congratulate our girls, Daniel Ríos and Osvaldo Deocares. Great year, group!
The Infantil Preferente Femenino team has consecutive victories, this time (73-21) against Buen Consejo. We are at the top of the table in this reclassification group, after 17-32 in the league.
The Infantil Preferente Azul team fell 67-36 to BT Aquinas in their return from 9-10th place in the fourth division and are ending their FBM season, after failing to improve their basket average.
After a 9-0 victory in the first leg, the U14 B team could not close out the result against C.B. Getafe in the second leg (43-69) and we fell in the playoffs. It has been a great year, group! Kudos to them for all their hard work. They finished with a 22-2 record this season, FBM.
The Infantil A team continues to do their homework and defeated Juan de Austria (66-81) at their home arena on May 25th. We are 6-0 in this phase, leading the competition in the 37th-48th place standings.
Cadete Preferente Femenino fell short in their series against Parla Básquet Black this weekend, falling at the Javi Limones Stadium and then on Sunday (71-62) in the return game to be eliminated in these league quarterfinals. We have to applaud Agustín Sánchez, Noelia Parralejo, and the entire core of athletes for such a good year, despite the outcome.
Cadete 2010 Blanco (White) with a victory, their first of the phase, (41-46) against Club Europeo Baloncesto B on May 24 at their arena. We breathe a sigh of relief with this great result. We now have to host San Viator C at the Sonia Abejón Stadium at 2:15 PM on May 31.
Cadete Primero Año (First Year) returned to action on May 24, against C.D. Nile (79-56), and they did it. We are now 3-3 in this reclassification phase, even more valuable because they beat the current leader.
Cadete Preferente has triumphed and continues to extend its tremendous momentum, defeating Alcorcón C.B. A (54-65) on the road on May 24th. We have a 3-2 record in this phase. We will play this time at the Sonia Abejón Stadium on May 31st at 12:30 PM, against Valcude Alcobendas 2010.
The Cadete B team played another great game and what a victory they achieved against Pablo Laso B on May 24th (83-85) at the UCJC Sports Club. It was a great game, and it allows us to break this team unbeaten record. We now have a 2-2 draw in the phase. The next game against San Viator A will be on June 1st at 11:15 AM at the Pepe Domaica Stadium.
Cadete A team won with a top offensive performance (104-83) against Valcude Alcobendas on May 25th at the Javi Limones Stadium. Juan Martín Castillo had a great game for our team. Junior A did what they had to do, and with great ease, in their match for 13th to 15th place in the league (120-48) against C.B Getafe A. They finished the season.
The U-22 Bronze team faltered in the Round of 16 of the league, against Eurocolegio Casvi (78-57) on the road, and were unable to advance to the Quarterfinals. Sebastián Malavé put in a great performance in this effort, after having won the first leg of this tie over two legs. The season is over.
The U-22 Silver team showed their mettle again and secured everything in the Quarterfinals against Salesianos Soto Piratas in the second leg (62-79), qualifying for the Final Four of their division. The U-22 Gold team finished off their run to these Quarterfinals at the Javi Limones Stadium very well, hosting Santa María del Pilar (89-60) on May 18 and beating them on the road in the second round on May 25 (64-79). Congratulations, we are a Final Four team! Osvaldo Deocares had a very sharp game, with five three-pointers from all angles, driving the offense. Images of the game are available on the YouTube channel. We await the Final Four opponents.
In the Second Division, Torrejón Spartans are on a roll, going to San Viator on May 25 and defeating them (73-85) at the Pepe Domaica Stadium.
And to wrap up #LaCrónica, the TBS Senior National Team has made it this far and has fallen in the VIPS League Quarterfinals. They faced a visit to the tough A.D.C. Boadilla (93-61), who, after a close first half with fluctuating intensity and a tight score, were unable to sustain their lead in the second half and were overwhelmed. Their offense lacked momentum, and our defense conceded 33 points in the fourth quarter. Rubén Escanciano was a standout offensively for the Colo Zuttion-led team. We close out another great year on a bittersweet note. After leading the VIPS group in the regular round, we once again lacked that extra edge in the Playoffs. But we are not giving up, and we will be back in 2025-2026. We are going to get to it. We will aim for promotion to the FEB Third Division. Go TBS!
