Hey! Here we are, back with #LaCronica

This is what happened this weekend for Torrejón Basketball Academy after the action on May 17th and 18th, as well as a look ahead to what is coming up in the next round of FBM games.

The First-Year Girls Benjamín are filling us with joy with how they have faced this final stretch of the season and the number of wins they have achieved. They are on top again! This time against C.B Ciudad de Móstoles 2017 (25-35). We are going for those 45-48 reclassification spots this May 24th at Javi Limones Stadium, at 12:30 PM, against C.D.I Rozasbasket.

Blue Mixed Benjamín have an enviable 18-0 record this FBM season, following their last victory (38-20) against Unión Deportiva Loeches. We will go to finish the season undefeated, hopefully on May 24th, visiting Parque Cataluña Torrejón at 10:00 AM.

The White Mixed Benjamín won this weekend (35-4) against Bulldogs Basketball at home, and this weekend they face the challenge against Humanitas C.D.E. Verde on May 24th at 9:00 AM at Javi Limones Stadium.

The Second-Year Girls Benjamín picked up their game after the last match and managed to beat C.B. Coslada (26-41) at their home arena. The year is coming to a close, and on May 24th we will head to Brains Moraleja at 1:00 PM.

The First-Year Boys Alevín were unlucky in front of the hoop, losing (63-28) to Basket Aranjuez on May 17th. We are playing against C.B Zona Press this May 24th at 2:15 PM at the Javi Limones stadium to close out the 2024-2025 FBM season.

The Azul Mixed Under-12s lost by the narrowest of margins (39-40) to Severo Torrejón, tying our season record at 9-9. Unión Deportiva Loeches will be playing their next opponent on May 24th. We are visiting them, and that game will be at 9:00 AM.

The First-Year Girls Under-12s... Well, well, what a game we had! A spectacular comeback, once again, with the composure and talent of Noa Gismero, who converted three free throws at the end of the match against Valdeluz on May 17th (52-53), leaving them on the field.

The White Boys U12 Second-Year Team was off on May 17-18 and returns to action on May 24 against Juventud Alcalá at their home arena. This will be at 10:45 a.m.

The Torrejón Boys U12 Second-Year Team has performed exemplary all year, although they were unable to overcome the tough clash against Real Canoe in the Marco Aldany League Quarterfinals. Starting on May 17th at the Javi Limones Stadium, they dreamed of the victory they achieved (99-88), but the following day at the Pez Volador Stadium, the team could not handle the challenge (108-80) and fell by an unrealistic margin, eliminating them from the Mini Day. A round of applause for the kids, David Sanz Jr. and company! We will compete for the 5th-8th place in the league this May 31 against Uros de Rivas A at the Javi Limones Stadium. Time yet to be determined.

The Second-Year Girls U12 team is in the hunt for the Play-In for promotion to Gold, continuing to win again, this time at home to San José del Parque (37-54). We are leading in this phase. We will be heading to the Javi Limones Stadium on May 24th, when we play against C.B Las Rozas B at 9:00 AM.

First-Year Girls Infantil team showed confidence at key moments to close out the game well against Baloncesto Leganés B (31-41) at their home arena. Win number 11 of the season for the girls. We will be back on the court on May 24th, at 10:45 AM at Javi Limones Stadium against Brains Arturo Soria.

The Girls Infantil team has lost two in a row to Spinola Chamartín (50-41) in the Round of 16, the latter on May 17th and we are eliminated from competition. Despite this, we have come a long way, and we have to congratulate our girls, Daniel Ríos and Osvaldo Deocares. Great year, team!

The Infantil First Year team has a string of consecutive wins, this time (51-66) against Alcorcón Basket on May 17. We will close out the season on May 24 at Blume, at 10:45 a.m., when we play Buen Consejo.

The Infantil Preferente Azul team fell 67-36 to BT Aquinas in the second leg of the 9th-10th place in the fourth division, ending their FBM season after failing to improve their basket average.

Infantil B team, after a +9 win in the first leg, could not secure the result against C.B. Getafe in the second leg (43-69), and we lost in the playoffs. It has been a great year, team! Kudos to them for all their hard work. They finished with a 22-2 record this FBM season.

The U-14 A team continues to do its homework and defeated Baloncesto Leganés 2012 at the Javi Limones Stadium (64-55). We will also have a double game day next weekend: against Distrito Olímpico B, a match that was scheduled for May 11 and has been moved to May 24, at 2:15 PM at the Javi Limones Stadium. And the following day, on May 25, we will face Juan de Austria at 6:30 PM at their home arena.

Cadet Preferente Femenino with a loss to start (59-55) in the Round of 16 against Pureza de María on May 10. However, on May 17, the return match at Javi Limones was full of noise, and we were able to come back (57-44). Home court advantage was taking effect, and our girls came up with the game to win by point differential and continue. Come on! It is time to play Parla Básquet Black on May 24 at 10:45 AM at Javi Limones.

Cadet 2010 Blanco with a loss (77-58) against San Viator C when we visited them in Madrid this past weekend. We are 0-4 in this reclassification phase. We will face Club Europeo Baloncesto B on May 24 at their arena. This will be at 2:00 PM.

Cadet First Year visited Colegio Joyfe on May 17 (00-00) and earned this result. The category returns to action on May 24, against C.D. Nile.

Cadet Preferente triumphed in fine fashion at home to Valcude Alcobendas 2010 on May 17 (55-71) to earn their fourth win of the season. We hope to close out the year on a high note when we visit Alcorcón C.B. A on May 24 at 5:45 PM.

Cadet B played another great game but could not close it out (49-48) on May 18 at home to Ensanche de Vallecas. We fall to 1-2 at this stage of the season in the Bronze Division, in the reclassification round. We will play Pablo Laso B on May 24 at 7:00 PM, at the UCJC Sports Club.

Cadete A had a decent day of play on May 18 against Alcorcón Basket B (70-59) at the Javi Limones Stadium to conclude the FBM season. We will play against Valcude Alcobendas on May 25 at the Javi Limones Stadium at 4:00 PM.

Júnior Preferente Azul suffered a setback this time against Movistar Estudiantes E (44-53) on May 17. Our record is 5-15 this year, and we hope to finish this FBM season on a positive note when we visit Bigmat Fuenlabrada on May 24 at 12:00 PM.

Júnior Preferente Blanco played again against Olímpico 64 on the road on May 18 (59-75). This May 25 against Liceo Francés at the Arturo Soria Stadium at 2:45 PM.

Junior B played another tremendous game (81-68) against Majadahonda Naranja on May 11 at the Javi Limones stadium. We now have a 3-0 record in the reclassification group, having finished between 37-48 in the FBM Bronze.

Junior A did what they had to do and with great ease in their match for 13th to 15th place in the league, (120-48) against C.B Getafe A.

The U-22 Bronze team fell flat in the Round of 16 of the league, against Eurocolegio Casvi (78-57) on the road, and were unable to advance to the Quarterfinals. Sebastián Malavé put in a great performance in this effort, after having won the two-legged first leg of this tie.

The U-22 Silver team showed their mettle and experience in these Playoffs and in the Quarterfinals against Salesianos Soto Piratas on May 18 (92-57). The return game will be a visit to them on May 25 at 5:00 PM.

The U-22 Gold team started off very well in these Quarterfinals at the Javi Limones Stadium, hosting Santa María del Pilar on May 18 (89-60). The second match of the series will be on the road on May 25 at 1:30 PM.

In the Second Autonomous Division, Torrejón Spartans managed to push hard and got a positive result at the Javi Limones Stadium against Recuerdo S.A.D (70-59). We will visit San Viator on May 25 at 1:00 PM at Pepe Domaica.

And to wrap up #LaCrónica, the TBS Senior National Team has made it this far and has fallen in the VIPS League Quarterfinals. They faced a visit to the tough A.D.C. Boadilla (93-61), who, after a close first half with fluctuating intensity and a tight score, were unable to sustain their lead in the second half and were overwhelmed. Their offense lacked momentum, and our defense conceded 33 points in the fourth quarter. Rubén Escanciano was a standout offensively for the Colo Zuttion-led team. We close out another great year on a bittersweet note. After leading the VIPS group in the regular round, we once again lacked that extra edge in the Playoffs. But we are not giving up, and we will be back in 2025-2026. We are going to get to it. We will aim for promotion to the FEB Third Division. Go TBS!
