David Sánz: "We have broken the record of children playing in the club"
From the sports management seat, David Sánz leaves his balance of the 2021-2022 season at Torrejón Basketball Academy:
"The 21-22 season has ended quite successfully. We have broken the record for children playing in the club, in turn increasing the number of teams we have had. As of results alone, definitely an irregular season for the first team, the Senior National, despite the home court factor. This was motivated by different problems, injuries the main one, and different isolated situations that have not helped the team advance".
Regarding the main teams, our General Manager commented: "As for the Special FBM teams, an excellent season finishing in Infantil, Cadet, Junior and Sub-22, in the four major categories inside the top ten clubs in Madrid. This, also counting that we came out in Gold in all categories. The rest of the teams have competed first-hand, at a good level. We got the title in Preferred Cadet Second Division, and the Second Division Preferred Junior as well; both teams, both categories earned the merit of being in the First Division. In Cadet and Junior we will have two teams in Special then, and one in the Preferred First Division, which gives our boys enough room to develop perfectly". It should be remembered that the Sub-22 came to this season as the current Madrid Gold champion, and with the results of the other three categories below this, the linear advances have been reinforced.
The girls section continues to advance, and this is an inescapable fact for which TBS is betting more and more, climbing the steps at a steady pace. Sánz adds details: "Good news is the increase in women teams. We have managed to get three teams out of this 21-22 season, and for next season there will be four teams participating in the leagues. In women we will now have a team Junior, a Cadet and an Infantil, so that will be a great advance to consolidate the section, to be able to make it grow and work with players to project them towards the professional ranks", he asserted.
Of course, within the analysis proper names arise as a result of the development at Torrejón Basketball Academy in both sections. Boys and girlswho have loaded their categories, have added weight within responsibilities, and grow up thinking about possible professional projections if they wish. On these prospects, David Sánz closes the interview with his opinions: "As for outstanding players, in addition to those who have stood out in recent seasons such as Daniel Ríos or Insa Kane, I highlight Diosdado Krohnert Moto or Amadou Maiga, who are players already consolidated in the Academy and in their respective leagues. This year, the inclusion of Simeon Maynard in the middle of the season was memorable, we discovered a great player. The consolidation of Alonso Puiggros in the Cadete must also be mentioned. Among the female cadets, we have to applaud the efforts of Irene Serrano and Noelia Parralejo. The Infantil team has It has been a fairly choral team, and it is worth noting more than the entire team. Also, a special mention to Maxim Baranov, who despite the situation in his country Ukraine, has been excellent in all aspects and fighting at a very good level, despite his country at war and his family still there.
