The Women Week has been a rowdy success at TBS
The #Chronicle is here and it is packed with news. Everything that happened for Torrejón Basketball Academy on the FBM basketball courts, both away games and at our home courts, Javi Limones and Nuria Fernández, during the action on March 7th and 8th, as well as a preview of the next FBM matchday:
The Girls Second Year Benjamin team won the rematch of the game of the year against Movistar Estudiantes Irati (38-26). Go girls! First game against the second-ranked team, there were sparks flying, and we ended their undefeated streak. We also regained the head-to-head tiebreaker, and with an identical 11-1 record, we are now league leaders in this first phase. We play away against Santa María del Pilar on March 14th at 9:00 AM. The Boys First Year Alevín team continues its upward trajectory, and this time they defeated Arroyomolinos C.B. (71-52) at Javi Limones. We now have a 10-4 record in the competition, currently in third place. Our next game is an away game against Fuentelarreyna on March 14th at 11:00 AM.
The U12 Girls First Year team could not extend their winning streak, losing to Parla Básquet 2015 (36-56), a team from the top of the league. This March 14th at 12:30 PM, we will host Madrid FSM C.D.B. at the Javi Limones gym. We hope to come back and win again.
The U12 Blue team had a tough time this past March 7th against C.B. Pizarro (65-30) at La Masó, who are the league leaders with only one loss. We now have a 4-12 record in the league. On March 14th at Javi Limones at 2:15 PM, we will be hosting Baloncesto Villalba B.
The U12 Girls Second Year team had an emotional weekend due to International Women Day (March 8th). On March 7th at Javi Limones, they competed hard but failed to capitalize on possession, ultimately losing 77-78 against C.B. Getafe. Then, on March 8th, they played a fantastic game at Javi Limones against C.B. Tres Cantos, who are second in the standings with a 12-1 record. They secured their thirteenth win (35-38) in another valiant effort by José Gismero-led team, a result that ultimately left them with a bittersweet feeling. It is worth remembering that they had lost the first leg against Tres Cantos by twenty-five points. There is no rest for now, as another great game awaits us on March 14th at 5:00 PM away at Ensanche de Vallecas.
The Under-12 Second Year team continues its winning streak in the Marco Aldany Silver category: a 15-1 record as league leaders, following their latest victory (36-87) against Basket Aranjuez Negro. We hope to keep this momentum going when we host C.B. Villa de Leganés on March 14th at 10:45 AM at the Javi Limones gym.
The Under-14 Girls First Year team remains league leader, adding another win to their record of 15-1. They triumphed (50-37) on March 7th against Distrito Carabanchel, dominating the team currently in second place. What a moment for Nerea Sánchez-led team! Highlights are available on our YouTube channel. We will be visiting Corazonistas Rojo on March 14th at 4:00 PM at their gym.
The Girls U14 Preferente team played a fantastic game at home in front of a great crowd, defeating Baloncesto San Fernando (42-35) on March 7th at the Javi Limones arena. We are now second in the standings, having beaten the third-place team and the runners-up. Osvaldo Deocares, Álvaro Pacheco, and their players had a tremendous performance! We are now 12-2 in the competition. Next up is a visit to Arturo Soria on March 14th at 11:15 to face Liceo Francés Candela.
The Boys U14 First Year team could not improve their 6-9 record this season, falling (43-63) to C.D. Ciudad de Móstoles, the undefeated league leaders with sixteen games remaining. We are heading to Antela Parada on March 14th at 9:15 AM to play against Baloncesto Alcobendas D.
The Blanco U14 Boys First Year team could not overcome the undefeated league leaders (14-0) at home, Isaac Newton (35-40), despite putting up a great fight and making it difficult for them. We will be visiting Alcorcón Basket on March 14th at 5:00 PM.
The U14 Preferente A team improved to 17-1 after winning at Magariños against Movistar Estudiantes (58-72), who are currently second in the standings. What a victory for Miggy Álvarez-led team! We will see them again on March 14th at 2:15 PM when we host La Paz C.D.
The Under-14 B team played away against Valcude Alcobendas B on March 7th. Now, they set their sights on their next match on March 14th at 9:00 AM at home in the Joaquín Blume Sports Center against Distrito Carabanchel. They need to win and aim for their fourth victory.
The Under-14 A team led the Bronze Division with an 8-0 record, defeating C.B. Coslada 73-69 away from home. It was a fantastic game from David Sanz Jr.-led team! Despite several players being out injured, they got the job done and beat the second-place team to stay at the top and secure promotion to the Silver Division. They will be at the Javi Limones Sports Center on March 15th at 5:45 PM to host Distrito Carabanchel.
The Women Cadet Preferente team saw their winning streak come to an unexpected end (30-27) against C.B. Pizarro Campus Ávila on their home court, a lower-ranked opponent. They will play at home on March 14th at 9:00 AM at the Javi Limones arena against C.D.V.
The First Year Cadet team played on March 8th against C.B. Pozuelo Amarillo at the Javi Limones arena. Their next match is away on March 14th against FGS Sports Basketball Cubas de La Sabra at 11:00 AM.
The White Cadet team played on March 7th against Alameda de Osuna at their home arena, Villa de Madrid, and now they will play at home on March 14th against Distrito Olímpico Canillejas at the Javi Limones arena at 10:45 AM. They are a direct rival in the lower part of the league, so a victory is essential.
The Cadete B team had a tough away game at home against the group leader, Distrito Olímpico B (62-101), at the Nuria Fernández arena, resulting in this loss. Next up is a visit to Alcorcón Basket B on March 14th at 5:00 PM.
The Cadete A team suffered another defeat this weekend, this time against C.B. Las Rozas B at the Nuria Fernández arena. We hope to turn things around on March 15th when we host Juan de Austria B at 7:30 PM.
The Junior Preferente Azul team has strung together consecutive victories and now boasts a 12-6 record after their win on March 8th at the Nuria Fernández arena (57-52) against Valcude Alcobendas. We currently sit fifth in the league. Next up is the away game against Repick San on March 14th at 5:00 PM. This will be an away game.
Junior Preferente could not string together any wins, suffering an unexpected defeat away to Agustiniano (60-51). We remain second in the standings with a 16-4 record. Our next game is this Sunday, March 15th, at 9:00 AM at the Nuria Fernández arena against C.B. Las Rozas D.
Junior B secured a victory at the Javi Limones arena on March 8th against Valcude Alcobendas (76-69), demonstrating a collective effort across all positions. They came into the game as league leaders with a 9-0 record in the phase. The team moves up to third place, forcing a three-way tie with a 4-6 record, and ultimately claiming the spot due to a superior point differential. Well done to Javier Piñar-led team!
Junior A maintains a perfect 10-0 record in the phase. We are heading into the playoffs in great form after a victory despite numerous injuries (79-86) against Distrito Olímpico this Sunday in San Blas. For the second consecutive weekend, Álvaro Fernández was indispensable with his offensive contributions, and both Francisco Abeso and Seyni Ndoye had outstanding performances.
The U22 B team has grown significantly and is on the rise, now in fourth place with a 12-6 record. They secured an 84-69 home victory against Baloncesto Leganés B. Bryan DSouza and Aaron Lujano had great games, leading the team to another consecutive win. We face Pozuelo C.D.E. on March 15th at 10:30 AM.
The U22 Gold team now boasts an 18-0 record in the competition after defeating Pintobasket (75-63), the team currently fourth in the league. Gregorio Recio-led squad continues to intensify their efforts and battle against all their opponents. We will be hosting Arganzuela Centro on March 28th at their home arena at 1:00 PM. The next game will be on March 15th at 4:00 PM at the Javi Limones arena against Joyfe School.
Torrejón Spartans won again and are now 15-3, defeating C.D. Estudio (47-75) on March 8th, continuing their impressive winning streak. We are currently in second place, trailing El Valle C.D., who have two more wins. We will be playing at home on March 15th at the Nuria Fernández arena against C.B. Pizarro Campus Ávila at 7:15 PM.
And to wrap up #TheMatchRecap, the TBS National Senior team pulled off an incredible comeback victory against C.D. Tajamar on their home court (81-86), twice overcoming a twenty-point deficit. The team played well as a unit, and Marcos Hermosilla and Rubén Escanciano showed individual brilliance, despite the constant absences due to injury and the junior players getting playing time. Their next home game is on March 14th at 7:30 PM at the Javi Limones arena, where they face the always tough Alcorcón Basket.
