The CB Getafe knew how to close it out to start these quarterfinals with the right foot, defeating our Tecmoon Torrejón by 69-57. Despite suffering us and dominating the scoreboard until the final quarter, the local team was able to turn the situation around to score a key victory.

With the new addition of Gastón Diedhou, who returns to Torrejón de Ardoz after a professional career and being one of the NCAA D-1 graduates of our academy, the Senior started the game very effectively in his shooting selection and got an advantage early 2-7. Gastón exercising authority.

Andrés Miso men adjusted in the following minutes and managed to tie the score with a triple by Dani Tolosa, 7-7. Diedhiou did everything afterwards. Stepbacks, threes, rebounds and blocks, which helped us finish the quarter up, 11-19.

Quique Dios was able to change the dynamics with the presence of him under the hoop for the locals. He scored two points in the paint and came to the line multiple times to put the deficit at just three points, 18-21. CB Getafe started shooting more regularly and got into the game. Despite captain Roberto Donaires points down the stretch, the first half ended with a tight score of 30-32 in our favor.

At halftime, the offensive rhythm dropped, but Gustavo Martín and Alberto Sánchez continued to score baskets to keep Getafe in the fight for the advantage. Pablo Rebollo with the intensity of him, and important baskets of the new incorporations Pau Monroig and Andreas Ariza kept us firm. A highlight, and it is strange when not, the youthful 16-year-old star Malique Lewis. Quite a phenomenon both in Junior and in this Senior squad, his contribution was felt. Jaime Pérez for the rivals hit a triple with 1.3 seconds to go, which put CB Getafe ahead on the scoreboard heading into the fourth quarter, 48-47.

The appearance of Enrique Ortiz with baskets in the basket and triples revived Getafe, before the mistake of ours. Most of his 12 points came in this room leaving Tecmoon Torrejón with no possibility of response. It is time to put the rest in the Javi Limones this May 22, and force the third and decisive with a TBS victory.
